My Initial Project Idea: Personal Real-time Location System

 It was by accident that I got into drones lately. I had 3 tiny drones in the past(the unbranded Chinese drones sold at SM Toy Kingdom) but my curiosity was killed by these drones because it did not meet my expectations. 2 Months ago, I got to noticed the DJI store at Sm North Edsa and got me a small drone(tello). Before I purchased it, I asked the seller these questions so that I will have an idea what's it capable of:

1. Can it balance on its own without me exerting much effort to make it fly and not crash immediately?

2. Will it hover just like the toy in the movie "flubber"?

3. Can I do some programming to enable it to perform certain tasks on it own? ("flight mission").

The seller at the DJI store said yes to all of my questions so I requested a demo and he did grant my request and it seems that 1 and 2 questions as my deal breaker was fully met and demo'ed so without any further hesitation, I purchased it.

I only got to fly the tello inside the tiny room I am renting 1 to 3 times every week. And almost aall of my was spent on watching youtube videos and researching on what are the possibilities I can do with it. 

As my knowledge increased in droning, I realized that the tello is indeed so tiny and not only that, it lacks the most basic features I need to develop a certain system just to jump start my learning curve on the subject matter.

I came up with an idea that the drone should be able to perform a flight mission at least twice a day to collect data and store this data and as data accumulates, i will search for patterns that can not be seen by naked the eye but it is there(data mining).

This is my initial thougths on this project. Will add more information soon. Part of it is face recognition, optical character recognition, extensive use of google maps and on the hardware side, I would initially be needing an arduino or raspberry pi, battery charge level sensing to automatically turn off the power when the battery is fully charged and a custom drone charging station because the idea behind this is that this whole system will be operated or rather installed in a remote location where there will be rarely any uman intervention. (sounds like a Mars or Moon bases project, LOL)

And certainly tello can not be used for this purpose so last week, I bought the dji mini. It is still a tiny drone but it can already meet my project's initial specification.

Like I said, I have been watching a lot of youtube videos learning about drones. Also did research on demos and testing of the on board gps system of the Mavic Mini.While it is the best in its class without the additional  base stations that other big drones have to achieve the ultimate accuracy there is to know, for me I need it to be more precise than what it is capable of right now. I am thinking of 2 options both of which are too complicated but I think it is doable. The reason why it is a mandatory requirement for my project is obvious, it should be able not to rely on human intervention in executing its own mission. The most important part of the project is for it to be able to charge itself everyday. My Project's Sample Mission

I have made a sample flight mission where my drone will be monitoring activities on a certain point of interest. In this case, a mango tree located within a rice field not too far from our house. For example, this tree is where thousands of Eurasian Tree Sparrows or locally known as "batingol" sleep. I know these birds because last year, dozens of these together with a bunch of muynas and a couple of  zebra doves(palekpek) used to hunt for small insects that dwells on grasses, maybe it's the food they fave so much because they risk getting near to a lot of potential predators in the area like cats, dogs, humans.  But eventually, they left for some other places because my cats drove them away.
